    Description

    5 U.S. stamps depicting iconic RR traditions:
    (1)'Transcontinental Railroad' issued on the 75th anniversary of the completion of the first transcontinental  railroad in America.  The stamp depicts the "Golden Spike Ceremony".
    (2) 'Railroad Engineers Stamp' issued in 1950 to honor the the RR engineers of America.  The  stamp depicts "Casey" Jones.
    (3)'B&O Railroad' issued in 1952 on the 125th anniversary of the Baltimore and Ohio RR, charter was granted by the Maryland Legislature in 1827.  The stamp depicts "Charter and Locomotives".
    (4) 'Postal Service RR Transportation' issued in 1975 marking the 200th anniversary of mail service.  The stamp depicts 'Old and New Locomotives'.  and
    (5) 'Electric Toy Trains' issued in 1998 paying tribute to the hobby of Model Railroading.  The stamp depicts 'Boy and Lionel Train Set'.
